There was around 350,000 cars and trucks sitting in the salt water for weeks..Some of them will make their way to used car lots..Maybe a lot of them..So be careful if you go to buy a used car during the coming months..check for a foul carpet smell and rusty everything>>

I can hardly believe what I just read in the Washington post news..The Un had proposed that it take over the internet main computers..In other words have management control of the Internet..Ha,Ha ha ha ha!!!Can you even visualize that..It is already in cahous and it wants to take the rest of the world with it VIA the internet..Needless to say, the US responded with a resounding NO!! Can't you just see Boltons eyes working on that!!

Well I dodged a bullet and Rita did no damage whatever around my area of town. The only positive things were we lost no power and I did not burn any gas trying to avoid a confrontation with such a formitable force..All is well on the home front and my internet never blinked..as a matter of fact I slept nine hours last night and heard nothing..Ah, sweet peace..

TV Commercials

Do you watch commercials on the tv? If you so, then you are getting more for your money than I am..I counted 52 in one hour..How many is too many for you? I have gone to the computer almost exclusively. I only watch news and baseball along with a swarm of them every 6 to 8 minutes..A long long time ago I was told that if I would leave free Tv and switch to paid service, I could get it free of commercials. Broken promises or what? What say you?

I Have been asked how I came to call my Blog Geronimo..Well being an ex paratrooper it just popped into my head..Besides being an Indian Chief It was used by many paratroopers when they jumped out of the airplane. It went like this geeeeeroooon iiiii moooo..that took about 3 seconds to say and that was the time your parachute should open..If it didn't you had better say somethng else..

Five disastrous days

Since I am a retired old coot, I had nothing better to do than to watch the media as they covered the most disorganized fiasco I have ever witnesed..The only thing that really impressed me was the performance of the military..Once they were called they really done the job and moved all those people in about 12 hrs..wouldn't it have been nice if they had been called about 3 days sooner..As I watched from day to day I couldn't help but wonder where were the helicopters and the ampibs. It was obvious that they were what was needed..but no: the bureaucracy had to be satisfied first..Now the blame game starts and if I can read the handwriting on the wall there will be a change in the voting this next election..I don't see Cheney having any effect one way or another on that..As you all know if you have been reading any of my blogs, I am a democrat beacuse you have to be one or the other. But, I like to speak my mind no matter whose ox is gored..I say people first, economy second and politics, Who cares???

Just a little cogitation

In view of the events surrounding the disaster in New Orleans do you think maybe the selections of Brown and Chertoff were the best to be had? If so, might we take pause to be cautious about the selections for the Supreme Court..One might be led to wonder if these selections were best for the people or the party..I'm not looking at the political aspect, but rather what this country really needs..It looks like some readjustments are called for..What say you?
