Remember When

Gasoline was $.18 per gallon and some stations used the old glass cylinder to measure it. Some cars had two horns, one for city and one for country. Windshield wipers quit working when you would speed up.Most bridges were one way(not much traffic). The rumble seat was the newest fad.During ww11 we had meatless tuesday, gasoline stamps, sugar stamps,no new cars, almost no tires,No butter unless you lived on a farm and had a cow. The oleo was white and a color package was included so you could make it look like butter..Just some of the things I remember.. I know there are many more thongh..

Congress

I really don't believe we sent members of congress up to washngton to smother everything they attempt with partison politics..We don't intend for them to use their appointment to power grab, raise election funds, pander to big money, and practice all sorts of shenanigans in order to get reelected. Then do the same thing thing all over again..

UN Vs England and America

We really do need an outspoken rep in the UN..Someone to tell Kofi to shut up or cook his own goose..His preposterous statement the the us and england are responsible for the fraud and abuse of the oil for food program. Who was charged with the oversight of that program anyway,Huh?? I say tell the UN if it doesn't straighten up and smell roses, we will curb or contribution of filthy luchre and see how that suits them...

passport debaucle

I fail to see how the passport requirement will do anything about the real problem we have with so many illegals(not legal emigrants) breaching our border to the south that has more holes than a semi load of swiss cheese..and politicions who look the other way in favor of big business and starvation wages..Go Figger

Reagans legacy revisited

On the news today it was announced that as bonds mature they can be renewed at the rate of original purchase..Sure good news for the fat cats that bought high rate bonds in 1981 after reagans tax cut for the rich..It seems that the great windfall mostly went for 10 to 13% Bonds instead of making jobs as it was touted to do..Those bonds are responsible for maybe as much as 2 trillion of our nationsl debt today..Maybe that is not so bad..What if everyone wanted to cash in at face value..hummmm!

Mexican invasion

Not the military kind, but the onslaught of illegals..The folk in Arizona have finally had enough and I don't blame them for trying to at last prompt the feds to do something besides abet the issue by saying we need their cheap labor on our farms and agricultural entities..Reality is they take the jobs that no one in this country can afford to do..You can't live on minmum wage Much less the wages these illegals are making..Mexico cannot provide jobs for these folks and desperation drives them across the border no matter what the cost..The special attention on the Arizona border will cause even more pressure on the California and Texas borders..The federal govt is charged with the responsibility to protect all our borders and must step up to the plate..

Is it just me

Wahabiism; Is this the militant splinter within the Muslim Religion, and if so, why are the muslims so reluctant to try to clean it up..It's probably just me, but I am very suspicious of the religious leaders within this faith..We really don't know everything they are teaching the muslim population..and maybe we had ought to. One thing for sure though; We are living in a perilous time.
