The corporate needle

The American taxpayers are about to get hit with billions of dollars to bail out the auto makers that make a product that auto destructs in 5 to 10 years..They may let us pay for the little things like health insurance for 450 thousand retirees and the development of new fuel-cell vehicles. I wonder if we could use a little tax money to pay for these subsidized products(yeah when the moon turns to cheese). How many times has this happpened? The first one that I remember was the savings and Loan bailout, then the harley davidson, then the chrysler motors, and just about all the airlines. It must be nice to be able to mismanage so badly and always be able to dip into the public dole for corporate ventures while at the same time chastising the individuals who have fallen on hard times and need a pittance so they can survive. It's a wonderful world we live in; just close your eyes and press forward..

  • As usual Howard you are right on. It would be funny if it wasn't so true.

  • I look at corporate welfare the same way I look at any other welfare. People should have to accept the responsibility for their bad decisions and the hardships that go along with them. The automakers bowed to the UAW years ago. It has caught up with them.
