High Tech Jobs

In a Cnet report Bill Gates said there is a shortage of high tech specialists..and there was no quick solution to the problem..Well maybe the industry should take a jaundiced eye look at why the pipeline has dried up..Why bust your butt for a degree in something where the job you need has been sent off shore..Just desserts for companies too greedy for their own good..

  • This is a 2 edged sword. Most American kids who want to get into High Tech want to do Rock and Roll computer games and the consumer oriented stuff...

Where the jobs exist is with truly high tech and cutting edge stuff. Doing this requires degrees in physics and/or math and/or chemistry. We are not turning out kids that WANT to do this enough to PRACTICE the necessary SELF DISCIPLINE TO ENTER THESE FIELDS!

What's scary is that to find the scientists with this background, even some of the highly secret departments of government have to outsource programming to foreign countries because we do not enough have homegrown qualified candidates.
