US port operations
I am outraged that our major ports on the east coast are about to be managed by the Arab Emirates..What utter insanity has led up to this situation..We are not incapable of managing our own facilities, so what gives here? Have we been sold down the river? Looks pretty darn scarry to me..When are we going to give them the rest of the country. I guess this is what you can expect from a congress who would sell their mother and all her kin to get re-elected..Partisan politics rules!!

I appoligize to congress as it appears they were totally unaware that our port management was being sold out..Now I found out that it was managed already by a foreign govt. When did all that take place, and did congress have a hand in that? Any way I look at this, it has a real bad smell..I thought that all these years we managed our own facilities..What a shock! Wonder what else is going on that we are not supposed to know about??? Can congress do anything anyway since the sale is between the former foreign country to another foreign country? Man what a mess..Maybe we should nationalize the industry and get our business back..

We've been asleep at the wheel too long...the British apparently were running these ports. That shouldn't have happened. I guess no one cared since they have traditionally been our allies.

I agree that it was probably ok under the British, but who would have (thunk) they would sell out to the potential enemies>>

Sandy, I am utterly mystified as to how our govt got involved this deeply..I believe that any conglomerate this big has to be riddled with corruption which bringeth money, which bringeth more ethical wrongdoing, which bringeth lack of security and oversight, which bringeth big trouble to the US down the road..Those little emirates are very suceptible to being overthrown at any time. Can we defense against that?

We have to follow the money to see who will get rich on this deal. Bush is going to have a hard time getting this past anyone since he likes to use the fear card on us. He may have gone to far on this one for his own good. But for sure someone is going to get rich from this since Bush has threatened a veto on any opposition to this plan.

We have to follow the money on this one. Bush may have used the fear tactic one to many times and will have a hard time getting this past anyone. To be sure someone is going to make a lot of money on this deal since Bush has threaten to use his veto power on any opposition to this plan.
