Unfinished wars

We have on our hands today two unfinished wars due to the breakdown of support from the American people..We have troops over there now and they have been there for 40 or so years..If the antis have their way we will add another..The terroists will not be contained by withdrawing our troops too early. On the contrary, they think they think they are making headway when they watch the news and hear that support for the war is waning,,Thats exactly what caused us to be tied up in Korea and Vietnam. and you want to add Iraq to the list of unfinished business..Wars ane not won by the President, congress or a disgruntled public as mentioned above, but by a dedicated military..The least we can do is not tie their hands by constant disapproval and finger pointing to whomever we choose to blame..This only encourages the enemy..

  • Howard...

I may have found something in some old posts in the bog...

    take a look at

    http://bubbasbog.blogspot.com/2005/02/how-to-fix-social-security_26.html

and then take a look at...

    http://bubbasbog.blogspot.com/2005/02/and-i-thought-that_26.html

Look at them in that order.

By the way, I'm with you. We have way too much unfinished business around the world. I'm praying that we don't have to finish it up defending Mainstreet USA with our favorite Duck scatterguns and Deer rifles. I'm getting too old for that schtick!

  • Don't blame the anti-war people. They aren't the ones who had no exit strategy when going to war. They aren't the ones who failed to provide the troops with enough body armor. They aren't the ones who lied to the public about reasons for going to war. They aren't the ones who didn't listen to top military brass about not having enough troops. They aren't the ones who failed to win international support which could have relieved us of some of the burden. They aren't the ones who have overextended our troops to the point of ineffectiveness. Blame the poor planning of the Bushies on this one. Blame all of the flagwaving, ribbon on SUV driving rightwingers who sit on their asses typing about how much they love the war rather than enlisting and fighting in the war.

How can you not be morally outraged at the manner in which this war was conducted unless you have no morals?

  • I don't believe I have ever waived the flag and said I loved the war. I do, however believe in defending this country by whatever means it takes to preserve our Freedom..Do you nt realize that our freedom was attacked on 9\11? I should think everyone in the world would know that..We can't afford to sit on our asses and bellyache about how much we disagree with those that are charged with doing something about those folks who will not listen to nothing spoken and will only respond to lumps on the head. So I say keep on giving them lumps until they know full well what the American Eagle is all about..

  • yes we were attacked on 9/11 by bin laden, a terrorist we trained to fight against the russians. Iraq has never attacked us. and in case anyone missed that IRAQ HAS NEVER ATTACKED THE UNITED STATES. although we have attacked Iraq three times that i can think of. Clinton bombed them too incase anyone forgot.

  • Well lets see now; If we had not stopped Sadam and drove him out of Kuwait, he would have also taken Saudi Arabia..and with full control of all that oil, how much would it be costing us today If indeed we could buy any at all..
